Technological solutions to care for an aging population in rural areas
SHORT ABSTRACT OF THE TALK
The aging of the population is a proven fact in a large number of developed countries. This poses a large number of challenges that must be addressed: social, economic and non-technological. This conference focuses on the problems posed by the aging of the population, particularly in areas with low population density and away from large urban centers. Starting from a multidisciplinary perspective that includes social, economic and health aspects, technological solutions are proposed that aim to improve the quality of life of the elderly population in these areas.

José Manuel García Alonso has a PhD in Information Technology from the University of Extremadura since 2014, and a lecturer in the Department of Computer Systems and Telematics Engineering at the same university since 2010, since 2016 as Professor Contratado Doctor. During his career he has made numerous publications in various prestigious conferences and magazines. Also noteworthy is its transfer work, which has been carried out with the participation in various research projects and contracts with companies and through the creation of two technology-based companies.
